Qatar Petroleum staff makes regular visits to university campuses in Qatar to meet with its sponsored students and to inform non-sponsorsed students of career opportunities in QP.
Qatar Petroleum was a sponsor of Qatar University’s Gasna competition which is a national initiative that aims at increasing society’s awareness about the country’s abundant and valuable natural resources. The overall objective behind this competition is to increase the understanding among children from Kindergarten of the importance of gas and gas processing to the economy and the future of Qatar. Children are the future businessmen, teachers, engineers, scientist, CEOs and leaders of this country, and it is critical that they start owning their future today.
As a result of the 2009 Career Fair, QP received over 3000 enquires regarding scholarships and employment opportunities from school leavers and experienced Qataris.
In 2009, QP implemented “Coaching for Excellence” training. An objective of this is to ensure that employees required to coach Qataris have demonstrated the skills needed to be effective coaches.
