Subsidiaries, Joint Ventures and Other Investments

The operations and activities of Qatar Petroleum are conducted at various onshore and offshore locations. In addition, QP carries out activities through the following subsidiaries, joint ventures and other investments (all information correct as of October 2009).

Al-Koot Insurance & Reinsurance
Al Koot is named after an historic Qatar fort from the Ottoman period. The company was incorporated in 2003 as a 100 percent-owned captive insurance company for Qatar Petroleum.

Al-Shaheen Energy Services (ASES) was established in 2006 targeting stronger national participation in the energy services industry.

AMWAJ was established in 2007 as a subsidiary of QP with the support of consultancies KMPG Qatar and international catering specialist Russell Partnership from the United Kingdom.

Gasal Q.S.C. was established in 2006 as a joint venture to provide industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and argon to the steel, oil, gas and chemical downstream industries in Qatar.

Gulf Drilling International Ltd. (GDI) specializes in the provision of contract land and offshore drilling services to oil and natural gas exploration and production companies.
