The operations and activities of Qatar Petroleum are conducted at various onshore and offshore locations. In addition, QP carries out activities through the following subsidiaries, joint ventures and other investments (all information correct as of October 2009).

Melamine Project

QAFCO is building the melanine plant at its facility in Mesaieed.

 

In 2007 QAFCO began construction of a US$320 million melamine plant in Mesaieed. With a production capacity of 60,000 t/a, the plant will be the largest melamine plant in the Middle East as well as one of the largest in the world.

The melamine plant, belonging to Qatar Melamine Company, is a joint venture between QAFCO and Qatar Holding. QAFCO is the majority shareholder with 60 per cent of ownership.

The fertiliser company will run both the operational and administrative aspects of the new plant.
