Crude Oil and Refined Products Marketing
The department’s responsibilities are undertaken by two divisions: Crude Oil Marketing and Refined Products Marketing & Domestic Supply.
The Crude Oil Marketing Division is responsible for the commercial, marketing, and customer related operational activities of all Crude Oil produced in the State of Qatar for export. QP’s four Crude Oil grades are: Al-Shaheen (ALS), Qatar Land (QLC), Qatar Marine (QMC) and Al-Rayyan (ALR).
The Refined Products Marketing and Domestic Supply division is responsible for maintaining local market's supply of Refined Products and facilitating the feedstock supply and delivery to existing and future projects in Qatar. It is also responsible for the export and import of Refined Products.
The LPG Marketing Division is responsible for executing QPSPP’s commercial strategy through the development and implementation of marketing plans for LPG.
The main areas include customer identification, development of sales proposals, tendering and conducting negotiations with customers (spot and term) then scheduling and coordinating lifting activities with customers and load ports for these products. Marketing maintains the integrity of contractual documentation and ensures that the necessary data is accurately recorded in Q-TRADES.
The Shipping Division provides all marine transport functional expertise and charter vessels (spot, term and COA’s), including advice on freight economics to maximize value associated with the sale of all Regulated Products. The Shipping Division also charters vessels for domestic movements between Qatari ports.
Naphtha and Condensate Marketing
The Naphtha and Condensate Marketing Department is in charge of executing QPSPP’s commercial strategy through the development and implementation of marketing plans for products related to Naphtha and Condensate. The main areas include customer identification, development of sales proposals, tendering and conducting negotiations with customers (spot and term) then scheduling and coordinating lifting activities with customers and load ports for these products. Marketing maintains the integrity of contractual documentation and ensures that the necessary data is accurately recorded in Q-TRADES.
Marketing Analysis and Governance
The Market Analysis and Governance Department is an independent advisory function to ensure all initiatives, proposals and strategies are objectively assessed for consistency with the purpose and intent of QPSPP. The key responsibilities are developing the medium (next year) and long range (5 year+) corporate strategies. The department supports near term contract development activities and performs independent economics assessment of all prospective sales prior to approvals. The team is also involved in performance analysis, reporting, organizing and managing the Quality Assurance System (QAS).
The department is also responsible for the governance and oversight of the marketing of GTL fuels and specialty products as well as the marketing of crude oil produced from QP’s international assets.
